Hurray hurray, the pace egg play! We used to do it at school in the 70s. The Heptonstall crowd would have been a bit more lucid in Midgley, wouldn't they? It's a totally different performance when they do it sober! Not sure which one I prefer!
I don't think I've ever seen the Heptonstall lot do it sober ;) but then I usually catch one of the later performances- It's like one big pub crawl! Last year we saw the Midgley lot in Heptonstall, too, and they were really having a laugh, but, I think its supposed to be like that.

LOL yes I think it's definitely traditional for it to get more slurry and chaotic as the day goes on! It just wouldn't be the same without it.
