fireworks

Didn't write anything last night as still feeling rough and fragile. Didn't realise till this morning that it is mastitis. It always catches me out like that- I don't know I've got it until I'm incredibly tired and weak. I thought I was over getting that now A is over 1yo, but I think once you get it you are more susceptible. Must have had it about 5 or 6 times with this baby. Hope this is the last. It only seems to be in cold weather, so had almost forgotten about it. I did go to that bonfire party on Friday, which meant A's feeds were out of usual routine, although I was careful not to feed him outside. Also the alcohol on Thursday night obviously didnt help. I didnt have that much but it had a really bad effect the next day. I should just not drink at all; I obviously can't take it anymore. I had been so careful not to have any caffeine, too.
Well, I'm getting a bit of a rest now as J as gone to a birthday party and F went along for the ride. A has finally gone off for a nap. Yesterday I took J to ballet while I wandered around in hopeless quest for black paper to do pictures of fireworks on. J was also feeling a bit tired, but we made it to the art shop, where we finally found huge sheets of black sugar paper for 30p. When we got back J and F both did bonfire pictures, after trying several types of crayons and pencils on the black paper and ending up with oil pastels/chalky pastels. I was hoping for something a bit more spontaneous and fun: semi abstract dots and splashes of colour! and instead got rather detailed representations of bonfires where the sticks featured heavily. Maybe we'll try it again with paint and glitter. We did some more fireworks at home last night, just a few Catherine wheels and rockets, but it was quite exciting for them. (I nearly set them all off on the kitchen table as I didn't notice they were there and I lit a lantern which had had a pencil poked inside it, so it set on fire. woops.) Later we watched the massive public display- about a mile away - from their bedroom window, with pyjamas on (including me!).
