I've been busy making stuff

It's just some work for somebody. OK, it's a theatre company and they want dolls in a papoose. Well, dolls I can do. Still working on the papoose. I'm trying to get it over with so I can tidy up and stop being in chaos. I have been enjoying it, though. I'm quite inspired. I have been wanting to make some more dolls in different fabrics and colours. The last ones I made were 'multicultural' waldorf dolls, which I gave to playgroups (on a bit of a mission- got so fed up with it all being so white around here).

Tooth, or lack of, is still a bit of a pain, (visible bruise and swelling on my face after 5 days), but gradually getting better, homeopathy helping. I have been lying low a bit, and feeling a bit sorry for myself, and keeping busy.

Had another day waiting for Josie, Immi and Sol to come round. She said she was coming when I phoned after lunch. Just before 3 we had to get outside- I didn't want to miss the sunny day altogether, and they were getting tetchy. We stayed out till the sun went down at about 1/4 to 4. We had to watch it disappear behind the hills before we could go in. Still no sign of them. I hope they're ok.

They were quite happy at home though, playing and sitting at the kitchen table doing stuff. Jem spent all day making cut out fairies with detatchable clothes and Furgs did his scrapbook. Ally just crawled, occasionally walking round the furniture, babbling. He says a few definate words somtimes, but most of the time I can't make out what he's saying. He went to sleep much better tonight. And it was only me putting them to bed. Bren was in Sheffield again, 2 hours away. He has decided to put off starting new job until after Christmas, for reasons that I'm sure outweigh the disadvantages of not being here at tea time, bath time, bed time, although he was here at breakfast time, so there's a bonus.

Yesterday Jem went to Flying Saucers, the 'painting pottery cafe' with some friends and painted something secret from me. I took the boys to the park and Oxfam, forgetting that both of the organic shops are closed on Mondays. On Sunday we ordered our Christmas tree to hire at the farmers market, which was otherwise unremarkable, so we bought gold paper doilies from the newsagents to make angels.

They deliver it and pick it up after Xmas, and it remains alive. Theyre grown in pots. You get deposit back even if it dies! So an 8' live tree only costs 15pounds. I asked them and it sounds like they dont go as far as Sheffield, maybe someone else does it?
